Things I want to achieve in the next ten years

Reflecting about the future is like walking towards the unknown, an experience which is both frightening and exciting for every human being. What is to come is unpredictable. However, a successful future is unquestionably a result of one’s acts in the present. Because of this, I seek to live my life according to what I believe to be important for achieving my personal objectives in the best possible way.

Working is a perspective that still frightens me. I fear not being able to fulfill the requirements of knowledge and personality for having a satisfactory job. In ten year's time, though, I expect to have succeeded in reaching a position which provides me with personal satisfaction and money for leading a comfortable life. I deeply hope not to stop believing in true friendship even after having been a colleague of many professionals who use of dishonest means of earning money.

When it comes to my personal life, I hope to have lived every single moment intensely, to have made good friends and to have changed or accepted all the aspects of my personality which bothers me. I also expect to have reached the balance between reason and emotion and the stability which are necessary for becoming a mother and I look forward to be having the same healthy and trustful relationship I have at the present moment, even after being married for some years.

At one night by this time I wish to be sitting on a piano bench in my library, listening to good music and contemplating my books, my CD collection, my pictures and my garden through an open window from which the cold wind will be invading the room and will be making me long more and more for the wine and the fondue that will be ready by the exact time when my friends will start to arrive for our weekly meeting. In this moment I will know that I have finally fulfilled my aims.

These are my dreams for the future, the images that come to my mind give me strength to pursue them now and through the fore coming years. My biggest dream, still, is never to stop dreaming and finding new challenging objectives. After all, there is not a single person in the world who can live without plans and expectations.
